More to explore. The museum hosts exhibits, activities, programs and events that are sure to engage and entertain visitors of all ages. Science, art and mathematics are best understood through innovative learning, so an array of well-designed sights and sounds stimulate young minds. And because it is built in a historic coal-fired, steam-generated AC power plant, there is a special focus on technology and the past, present, and future of energy.

Signage is presented in English and Spanish, plus key words from Southern Ute.

Let the little ones go wild! There is even an area designed with inquisitive toddlers in mind. In the E-Tree and Discovery Kids play zone, children 4 and under can touch, look, manipulate and investigate a world of interesting objects and ideas.

What a great way to spend the day! Whether you are traveling with a budding scientist or simply looking for an interesting family adventure, you will find the Durango Discovery Museum offers distinctly visual and thought-provoking fun. And when you finish at the museum, the kids will also love a ride on the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
